A Fort Stewart soldier who pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter charges has agreed to testify against three other soldiers who prosecutors say killed two people and planned anti-government attacks, according to an Assiciated Press report.
Pfc. Michael Burnett, 26, pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter charges in connection with the December slayings of former soldier Michael Roark, 19, and his girlfriend, Tiffany York, 17. The bodies of Roark and York were found Dec. 6, less than a week after Roark had been discharged from the Army.
Burnett was arrested days after the killings, along with Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon, all of 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. The four were charged with malice murder, felony murder and criminal gang activity, among other charges.
