On Saturday, April 28, local dogs are asked to bring their favorite two-legged friends to downtown Auburn for a fun-filled, fido-focused festival.
Hosted by the Auburn Downtown Development Authority, the third annual installment of the “For the Love of Dogs” event promises to be bigger and better than ever before. The tail-wagging whimsy kicks off at 10 a.m. next to Auburn City Hall and lasts until 4 p.m.
Canine-centered activities will include chances for area dogs to try their paw at the following:
- Nosework
- Agility
- Search and rescue
- Rally
- Cart pulling
- Obedience
- Herding
- Flygility
- Frisbee
- Tracking
Their human companions can enjoy things such as:
- Meet the breed introductions
- Obedience lessons (Yes, it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks!)
- Therapy dog demonstrations
- Shopping vendor booths for new pet beds, collars, leashes, all natural dog treats, etc.
- Children’s activities
No dog? No problem! There will be plenty of rescue groups on hand with deserving dogs ready to be adopted
