Earlier this week Peach Pundit co-founder and Editor Emeritus Erick Erickson joined conservative bloggers across the country to write about Brett Kimberlin, a leftist who harasses conservative bloggers.
In the Kimberlin discussions around the conservative blogosphere came a scary story from Patterico’s Pontifications about the night a SWAT team showed up at his house acting on a call he had just killed his wife. The call was faked to make it look like it came from his house. The SWAT team acted according to their training and arrived at the house expecting to find an armed man who had just murdered his wife. Needless to say it was a very dangerous situation and could have cost Patterico his life. Patterico is not the only victim of “SWATing.”
Tonight Erick Erickson and his family were the victims of a similar incident. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the Erickson home after receiving a call, supposedly from Erick’s house, saying an accidental shooting had taken place. Erick had wisely alerted the Sheriff’s department something like this might happen and thankfully Erick and his family are OK.
Politics is serious business and we deal with serious matters but if your political activism compels you to put other people’s families in danger and risk people’s lives, you are deranged and need to be dealt with appropriately by law enforcement. I hope they catch the bastards who did this and they go to jail for a long time.
