Eric Shanteau, together with his 4×100 medley relay team members, is headed into Sunday as a top contender for gold.
Shanteau, a graduate of Parkview High School, competed with Nick Thoman, Tyler McGill, and Cullen Jones. The team’s qualifying time in a preliminary heat was 3:32.65.
Great Britain, Japan, Australia and the Netherlands rounded out the top five finishers.
