DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis is continuing his series of meet-and-greets throughout the county by visiting Brookhaven residents next month.
On Monday, June 11, Ellis will be meeting constituents at the home of Carolyn and Trey Benton, 3511 Sunderland Circle, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The following night, he will be at the residence of Tim and Toni Morrison, 7 Brookhaven Drive, also from 7-8:30 pm.
Ellis said he has held more than 50 of these gatherings since he took office.
Ellis has two opponents in the July 31 Democratic primary: Gregory Adams and Jerome Edmondson.
While Ellis has not come out in opposition to the notion of Brookhaven cityhood, he has criticized the legislative process that allowed the bill to move through the most recent session of the Georgia General Assembly.
