Before most Holly Springs residents were even awake, more than 50 Holly Spring volunteers were setting up their annual Easter egg. In about three hours they were able to set up over 3,500 eggs filled with candy, disposable tattoos, and other goodies.
When asked of the motivation for this event, Holly Springs Mayor, Tim Downing said, “In my opinion it’s the definition of community.”
It indeed seemed so as the final product represented over sixty days of preparation by determined volunteers of Holly Springs.
Around 11 a.m., children organized by age group ran and searched in an attempt to collect the most eggs. Afterwards, the Easter Bunny himself came; posing for pictures patiently as a large line developed across the park.
