Columbia girls’ head basketball coach Chantay Frost saw her team rally from a four-point halftime deficit to give her a third consecutive coaching victory in the DeKalb County All-Star Basketball Classic girls’ matchup 64-51 over the Breedlove All-Stars.
The Breedlove All-Stars coached by Renee Breedlove of Miller Grove opened a 34-30 lead at the half behind eight points from Quiana Tucker of Tucker and six points from Chamblee’s Breana McDonald.
Frost’s team then played the kind of defense in the second half her Columbia teams have displayed in winning two state championships in the past three seasons.
Breedlove’s squad was limited to half its first half total of 34 points while the balanced scoring and timely free throw shooting of Frost’s squad put 34 points on the board in the second half.
