National Crime Victims’ Rights Week starts Sunday. It is a time to honor crime victims and our nation’s progress in advancing their rights.
In North Georgia, the week will start at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 308 Clairemont Ave.
According to the U.S. Attorneys Office, the event starts at 5 p.m. with an opportunity for crime victims and citizens to speak with attorneys and other officials who may be able to offer assistance. A memorial wall of those murdered in metro Atlanta from 1991 to the present will be dispalyed.
From 7 to 9 p.m., a memorial service will be held in the church.
