Between 5:30pm on June 7 and 8:45am on June 11 the Project Safe Thrift Store, 995 Hawthorne Ave, was burglarized. Stolen was $190.
Around 4pm on June 11 a resident of Westpark Drive, driving a 2003 Ford Explorer, was south bound on the outer 10 Loop. As she crossed the bridge over Chase Street, her vehicle hit standing water, which caused it to go out of control and strike the guard rail two times before rolling over the rail and down an embankment. The vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side. The driver was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. She was also cited for Too Fast for Conditions.
On June 9, a series of enforcement checks were conducted by the Alcohol Compliance Unit. Three subjects were cited for selling alcohol to buyers under 21 years old: Harold Galanti of Flanagan’s, George
