DeKalb County commissioners Elaine Boyer, Sharon Barnes Sutton and Stan Watson recently sponsored a bowling party for charity with proceeds going to Avondale Estates’ LifeLine Project. LifeLine provides adoptions and lower-cost spaying and neutering services for pets. The three commissioners raised $3,500 for LifeLine.
The bowling event was also put on to bring attention to the county animal shelter, which is not in very good condition and needs a lot of help. Though the event is over, donations are still welcome at this website.
Also, if you are looking to adopt a pet this week, adoption rates have been reduced to $60 at the county shelter through June 15. Teachers and educators get free adoptions through the rest of June at LifeLine. Plus, yesterday, as part of the national
