Johns Creek city staff on Monday recommended a handful of road projects that would be funded by money saved on recent work on Jones Bridge Road.
Public Works Director Tom Black told the city council during its work session that the city saved money on three Jones Bridge Road intersection projects by finding federal, state and county funds for the work.
Therefore, he recommended reallocating the $1,009,263 in local funds for additional projects on Jones Bridge Road as well as a new traffic light on Johns Creek Parkway at Lakefield Drive. The money would come from the 2012 budget or earlier.
These projects would include widening Jones Bridge to four lanes from E. Fox Road to Douglas; improvements on Jones Bridge from State to Kimball that would include addition of turn lanes; and installation of a new traffic signal at Jones Bridge Parkway and Lakefield
