LAWRENCE — The layoffs of three officers late this summer plus the departure of two higher ranking supervisors will leave behind an altered Lawrence Township Police Department, Chief Dan Posluszny said yesterday about upcoming changes that will lower the force to 60 officers.
Township residents can expect to see different kinds of responses for petty crimes and misdemeanors. “You may not have an officer come out, but you will have an opportunity to follow up later,” Posluszny said.
For such cases, police may increase the use of online reporting, in which residents file reports on crimes rather than waiting for police to document
