Sixty-five organizations and businesses joined with the Livable Communities Coalition (LCC) to launch the Fast Track Forward transit campaign with plans to educate and turn out voters for the July 31 transportation referendum.
Buckhead business and political leaders were in attendance at the event, including state Rep. Doug Stoner, D-Smyrna, whose new district has been drawn to include several Buckhead neighborhoods.
The event took place at Shout Restaurant in Midtown on Wednesday night.
LCC is a coalition of education and outreach organizations and businesses that says it is committed to transit-dependent populations, smart growth and Atlanta regional transit options.
Event speakers included Buckhead’s David Allman, chairman of LCC and Regent Partners, and Doug Hooker, executive director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, who is also a Buckhead resident.
