Just a jolt of reality for all you parents and caregivers of chidren out there: public school in Athens starts on August 8. That’s less than four weeks away. Yikes.
At 10:30 this morning, you can catch “The Dish Ran Away with the Spoon,” a puppet show, at Mel Auditorium in Clarke Central High School. Some staff members of the Athens Clarke County Library are putting on the show as part of the library’s summer reading series. It’s free, and you, as well as your children, will enjoy it.
The “Sit in the Shade” poetry series continues at the Globe tonight, with a reading by poet Alice Friman at 7pm. She’s a poet-in-residence at Georgia College and State University. So far, the readings have been great, and this one will surely follow suit.
