Man Hit by Train Near Marietta Boulevard – Midtown Patch
A 55-year-old man lying on train tracks near West Midtown late Wednesday night was struck by a CSX train.
On Thursday, officials were still attempting to determine whether the man was already dead before being struck by the CSX Train K80201 near 762 Marietta Boulevard.
According to Kim Jones, Atlanta Police spokesman, there were no signs of foul play and the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s staff is trying to determine the cause of death. The man’s name has not been released.
Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision – Marietta Patch
Derrick Ferree, 24, of Marietta was killed in the accident that occurred Wednesday in Woodstock.
Giovanni Aragon-Mercado, 19, apparently fell asleep, crossed the center line in an SUV and struck the motorcycle driven by Ferree on Bascomb Carmel Road at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
