Controversy Brews Over Tilted Kilt Restaurant – Suwanee Patch
The controversy started as soon as Tilted Kilt opened its Suwanee location in mid-March.
“Are Suwanee residents happy to have a Tilted Kilt (a Hooters wannabe) restaurant coming in the midst of our family-friendly area?” one resident posted on Facebook.
The restaurant chain’s distinctive feature is its female servers, who are dressed in Scottish-themed outfits that emphasize cleavage. Also, the garb exposes midriffs.
Some critics describe the garb as offensive and demeaning to women. Others say the controversy is overblown.
The chain also operates restaurants in Johns Creek and near the Mall of Georgia.
