Just in case you bracket junkies didn’t get your fill back in March during the college basketball playoffs, the House Republicans have launched the third annual New Media Challenge.  The goal is to get the most followers on Twitter, most “likes” on Facebook, and the most views on YouTube.  Overall, 90 members of the House Republican Conference have accepted the challenge.  6 out of 8 of Georgia’s Republican delegation are participating.  This week’s square-off is to see who can get the most followers on Twitter.  Here’s the match up:

Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA-11) (@RepPhilGingrey) vs. Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM-2)

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA-3) (@RepWestmoreland) vs. Homeland Security

Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA-8) (@AustinScottGA08) vs. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH-18)

Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA-1) (@JackKingston) vs. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA-6)

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA-10) (@RepPaulBrounMD) vs. Rep. Virgina Foxx (R-NC-5)

Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-9) (@RepTomGraves) vs. Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL-16)

Winners of this round will square off to see who can get the most “likes” on Facebook.  The Hill has an article about the challenge that you can take a look at as well as the brackets for the match ups.  In the mean time, go and support Georgia by following these congressmen on Twitter!  Hat Tip to Congressman Jack Kingston’s district press guy Tim Wessinger for letting us know about this challenge.
