The City of Acworth held a Memorial Day ceremony Saturday at Patriots Point at Cauble Park. Patriots Point is the home of Acworth’s Veterans Memorial, honoring the men and women who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The ceremony began with the mournful sound of bagpipes and included the Laying of a Wreath by Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Ike Reighard, pastor of Piedmont Church in Marietta, and the Presentation of Colors, a Gun Salute and Taps were presented by members of VFW Post 5408. Students from North Cobb Christian School presented our National Anthem.
